As President of Korus Health Innovation, Bruce consults with health leaders to improve whole-person health – body, mind, and spirit.  We have opportunities to shift from providing “sick care” to improving health. We can address the drivers of health outside of our conventional healthcare delivery system.  Americans can “add years to life, and life to years” (Mckinsey Health Institute)

In his consulting, Bruce combines business model innovation with new technologies and expanded care teams. Consumers want health services that are easier to use and more affordable. Family physicians want to spend more time with patients and improve population health. “Health care screams for disruption” (Clayton Christensen).

Bruce is building on a career of 30 years in hospital and physician group management on the West Coast.  His first health care position was Director of Budgeting at the UC Med Center in San Francisco.  He became Director of Finance for a California hospital and VP of Operations for a major medical center in Spokane.  He managed several physician practices in Washington State, including radiology, 90-physician multi-specialty, ophthalmology, and primary care groups.  He also directed quality improvement for Oregon Community Health Centers.

He moved to Wisconsin to be closer to family and has enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up. He has asked himself, “Will our healthcare system be better when they have a family?”  To learn more about health technology, he arranged webinars on telehealth, remote patient monitoring, digital therapeutics, cloud computing, and health tech startups.  He realized that we need innovative business models to fully utilize these new technologies.

Bruce received an MHA from Cornell University, an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington.
